Lake of Sunset Park (1908)
Dublin Core
Title
Lake of Sunset Park (1908)
Subject
Sunset Park Lake
Description
Sunset Park was formed by a glacier 14,000 years ago as it pushed soil and rocks across the continent.
Global warming halted its advance and left the ridge that we know as 6th Ave - the highest point in Brooklyn.
The glacier left behind a "kettle hole" from which
this lake was made. In 1936 it was filled in and today a sports field is on its location.
This photo was from a postcard.
